Our History

Rand Transport commenced operations as a long haul refrigerated carrier operating from the West Coast to the East Coast. The Company commenced with five road trains running on a weekly cycle.

In 1986 the Automotive Holdings Group acquired Rand as part of their logistics business and provided the necessary financial and management support to develop the business. The business grew steadily and in 1995 Rand moved from road to rail services when refrigerated units were introduced on the East-West rail corridor.

In the same year Rand moved into its current Head Office premises in Kewdale, WA taking over the FAL coldstore facilities enabling the company to offer its customers the opportunity to combine their storage and transport needs - a model that Rand has successfully duplicated in all other mainland states.

Rand's East Coast customer base developed strongly and in February 2001 the company moved its Victorian operation to new premises in Derrimut and in March 2007 Rand commissioned its state of the art facility in Homebush Bay, Sydney to meet continuing demand.

Rand will continue to review new expansion opprtunities to enable it to meet its customer's demands for integrated 3PL services.
