Vehicle Accreditation

All Rand company owned and leased vehicles and equipment were Trucksafe accredited on a national basis. However with the recent changes to legislation and the introduction of the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) Rand is developing a revised policy to ensure compliance.

Rand recognises safe driving and fatigue as an associated risk of our business activities. Fatigue in particular is an important health and safety matter for vehicle movement for both drivers and other road users. It is Rand’s objective to prevent road and other transport related incidents through proactive management and the implementation of our National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) program.

Rand is committed to the provision of a safe and healthy work environment that extends to the management of:
•    safe driving,
•    fatigue management
•    ‘Chain of Responsibility’ activities and requirements
•    provision of road/transport equipment in safe and roadworthy condition,
•    maintenance management
•    mass management

Rand is committed to ensuring those undertaking transport activities for Rand hold the appropriate licences and have completed the required training as detailed in Rand’s NHVAS Program.

Rand is committed to work with our employees, subcontractors, clients, industry groups and others to continually review and improve Rand and industry chain of responsibilities, safe driving and fatigue management.
